East Top Lightning Blues Harmonica - Review
I was sent the latest offering from East Top from an Amazon Marketplace trader for an impartial review and here's what I thought.
Not to be confused with the Seydel Lightning, this budget harmonica from East Top is a great bang for your buck. The East Top is air-tight which makes it easy to bend notes on and for a mere £30(ish) Sterling, this harmonica will not disappoint!

Harmonic Minor Tuning for Harmonica

The harmonic minor tuning is a superb alternative to a regular richter tuned harmonica and helped me explore many more musical avenues than I was. The harmonic minor tuning is also a boat load of fun! In this video I explain what the differences are to a regular tuned harmonica. Thanks to Seydel Harmonicas for the Am harmonica used in this video.

How to tune a harmonica

Wanted to get a Harmonica to play melodies while playing Guitar, got a C-Harmonica, Was disappointed i couldnt play all notes, Saw some women who made some crazy improvisation on it. Wanted to know why and how she could play so much more notes than i can and sounding beatiful like a saxophone... First tutorial was about how to bend in notes, overdrawing, even could get to overdraw to Dd(1), pretty fast, but its hard/crazy, didnt work for other notes. That tutorial only showed the black and blue notes you ve showed, and you pulled off that red notes,... pretty impressive. I gotta slight idea how much practise it is to be pull of those red notes. Chromatic Harmonicas are no option while playing guitar. But this overblowing and overdrawing seems like alot of work to me. Isnt there a third type of harmonica that enables you to play all notes without pushing that slet, like on a chromatic harmonica, or overblowing/drawing on a diatonic, but gives you a smaller amount of octaves or got 24 instead of 10 blowholes?

It is interesting you mentioned reed whistling, I'm relieved it wasn't personal. I have it on my suzuki bluesmaster, too. I wondered why and the reedplate was curved. I have a whole set some are right and some do whistle.

I just got one in A. It’s a very decent harp for its price range. All the bends work well and the 6 over blow is available if not as immediately clear as some higher end harps. It’s not airy at all on the lower bends. Yes, it is bright. Among the numerous harmonica reviewers, it’s nice to encounter one (you) who clearly plays very well. Many don’t.
